Husbands and Other Sharp Objects by Marilyn Simon Rothstein is such a fun, witty book! It is the perfect beach read which I why I was excited to get to read it on the beach during the holidays🏖! This is the second book (the first is Lift and Separate) about Marcy Hammer’s transition from a married mother of three to a woman who now has grown children and is separated from her husband, a woman’s brassiere business magnate! Marcy’s voice is honest, but sarcastic and funny! As she navigates a new boyfriend and her daughter’s wedding she finds that she may have to stop trying to please everyone else and focus on what she wants. But can she do it?
I read this quickly and due to the writing style I felt like I was almost reading a screenplay – I could completely see this series as a rom-com movie in the future!
This book is currently available for free as part of the Kindle Unlimited program or for $4.99 if you are not a KU subscriber! The first book about Marcy is Lift and Separate and is also part of the KU program right now if you want to read them both!
