Happy Publication Day to Freefall! I thought this was a solid debut thriller by Jessica Barry! It was fast paced, and highlighted a difficult mother-daughter relationship. Good combination! Allison Carpenter has to hike for her life after her fiancé’s plane goes down in the mountains and she is the only survivor. She knows she has information others want silenced so she has to make her way through the wilderness to try to stay one step ahead of her trackers. Meanwhile, her estranged mother, Maggie, has just found out that her daughter was in a plane crash and likely killed even though no body was found. Maggie hasn’t spoken to Allison in a while, but her mother’s intuition leads her to look deeper in to this plane crash and examine why they because estranged in the first place. This was a quick read and I look forward to more books by Jessica Barry!
