Keep You Close by Karen Cleveland is her second book after her debut Need to Know, which I loved! Keep You Close is a good, quick FBI thriller that had some twists, but got a little convoluted at times and there were some definite shortcomings in the main character that bothered me, but that is probably me being a judgemental parent:). There are some characters from the first book in this one but you do not need to have read Keep You Close first.Steph Maddox is a senior FBI agent in charge of internal investigations. She rose quickly through the ranks after a large mob bust in Chicago earlier in her career. She and her 17 year old son now live in DC and she’s found herself a little too close to finding out information that some people want kept very quiet. What will the “bad guys” do to keep her from digging deeper – threaten her family. What will she do in response – protect the country or protect her family?
