I really enjoyed learning more about Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy – a girl who seems to have it all! Even though this was a fictional account, author Kerri Maher did a lot of research and put together an interesting and entertaining story around some real-life accounts for her debut novel, The Kennedy Debutante. I had no idea that Kick had such a short life marked by a lot of waiting. I was also fascinated to learn of the terrible conflicts she went through as a Catholic falling in love with a Protestant. I even learned things about other members of the Kennedy clan that I didn’t know, like how mush physical pain JFK was in growing up! Thank you to Penguin Random House and First To Read for my electronic copy of this book. I am looking forward to what this author writes next!
