Nine Perfect Strangers

I finished Nine PenzSUsDA9ThKzp3%neAxb5Qrfect Strangers by Liane Moriarty at the nail salon where this picture was taken!  Hey, it’s the holiday season:).  I got it as my Book of the Month Club selection in November.  I have read several of her books including What Alice Forgot (my favorite of hers), The Husband’s Secret and Big Little Lies.  This one is generally similar – it is a solid read with a clever setting and pretty interesting characters. Nine different people go to a health spa for “transformation” so you know they all have issues to begin with, and you slowly learn what those issues are. Some characters are developed better than others which is to be expected with so many but I did feel like I got to know most of them and I was rooting for their transformation. The unorthodox methods of transformation that Masha, the director of the “spa”, uses are interesting and left me thinking about how we get so used to seeing what’s right in front of us that we forget to zoom out for a bigger picture. I read this pretty quickly even though I felt it was a little slow at the beginning.  I would definitely recommend it if you like her other books!
